An Art Deco era, Egyptian revival ring, modeled in 18k yellow gold, whose head is a three dimensional scarab beetle, that opens like a locket! In the manner of ancient jewelry, this scarab locket spins, head over tail, on a pin that anchors it to the ring's shank. The ring's shoulders feature wrapped wire decor, that also echos design in ancient Egyptian jewelry. It's shank is pinched at the shoulder, and it widens toward the base. This ring has a nice, weighty build, and all of its moving parts are functioning admirably! It is marked with a French eagle's head (indicating 18k gold purity), and with a partly-obscured maker's cartouche. We have left the ring's surface wear intact, as we prefer this buttery, warm, time-won finish.
