A soulful, Victorian-era locket ring, modeled in 14k yellow gold, whose face is set with a fine, buff-polished slab of dendritic agate. This agate is slightly translucent, with earthy, fern-like, dendrite forms that float in its light field. It is held in a stepped bezel that functions as the secret "door" to our locket, inside which one might place a small photo, a lock of hair, or a slip of paper. The ring’s shoulders feature a deeply engraved diamond pattern. Its weighty, half-round shank tapers from the shoulder, growing slimmer toward the base. Rings from this era with locket faces are quite rare— this one is complete with its original glass and photo ring, and it has a substantial, comforting weight. The locket hinge is in good working order.
