Victorian Era Diamond & Pearl Cluster Ring in 14k Gold
Poor Mouchette
* * SOLD * *
A late Victorian diamond and seed pearl cluster ring, with outstanding proportion and balance. This dainty love is modeled in 14k yellow gold. Its head is a thoughtfully-made, equilateral diamond, that holds within it the ring's five white diamonds and four natural seed pearls. There is a subtle cruciform shape implied by the diamond layout, and the ring's centermost prongs come together to give the impression of small flowers. The ring's integral, half-round shank tapers toward the base. This is a real charmer, with its lovely geometry, and it would make a sweet alternative engagement ring.

Notes
Three of these diamonds are old mine cuts, and two are single cuts. It is likely that the two single cuts are original or else they are early (1920s - 1930s) replacements, since the prongs do not appear to have been re-tipped. You would never notice the difference in cuts, without magnification.
