A charming, early-20th-century engagement ring, modeled in 18k yellow gold, whose form is a modified (open) bypass, where each tapering, diamond-set "ribbon" terminates in a gemstone finial. These primary gems are a highly-saturated, bright-red, old cut ruby (set in eight prongs), and a luminous white sea-pearl. These gems each "grow" off the tapered end of one side of the ring shank, and rest against the edge of the other— a series of six chunky little old mine cut diamonds frame them, above and below. This ring shank is half-round; it curves and tapers toward the base. We love this perfectly balanced take on the toi et moi idea, and it's use of contrasting, complimentary gems— the two primaries seem to lean on one another, and they appear perfectly equal on the plane of the ring face! This is unusual and very flattering in wear.
