Edwardian Amethyst Pear Lavalier Necklace
in 14k Gold
* * SOLD * *
An elegant, Edwardian-era lavalier necklace, modeled in 14k gold, whose focal element is a large, faceted pear shaped amethyst. This lovely faceted pear drops from a single, smaller, amethyst round— a long, slender, knife-edge bar connects the two gems. These fine old amethysts are a highly-saturated, deep, cool-tone purple. They sit atop decoratively pierced baskets, where they are held in tapering, claw-like prongs. The pendant drop is supported by a delicate gold chain that's fixed to either side of the top setting, y-style. This necklace is wonderful for its precise lines and minimal styling— the vibrant, oversized purple gem is especially striking, thanks to these clean lines! This necklace closes with a spring ring clasp.
