An icy, low-profile, Edwardian-era diamond cluster ring, modeled in 14k yellow gold and platinum, whose twenty-one transitional cut diamonds encrust its striking ellipse-shaped face. These diamonds are set with a combination of beads and prongs. The centermost diamonds are held in series of shapely, milgrained, navette and half-circle seats, while the diamonds that surround them are held in prongs integral to the ring's pierced gallery. The ring's undergallery and slender, tapering shank are modeled in soft, rosy-yellow gold. We love the all-over sparkle an highly-textural quality of this ring, along with its lacy perimeter! Marked 14k/Plat for purity.
These rare old diamonds have a relatively large table, a small culet, and a unique faceting pattern— they are the bridge between old European cut diamonds, and early brilliant cuts.
