Dainty Antique Heart Charm with Lily of the Valley & Forget Me Not in 14k Gold
Poor Mouchette
* * SOLD * *
A darling, Art Deco era, heart-shaped harm, modeled in 14k yellow gold, and decorated with flowers in blue and white enamel. These little blossoms (lilies of the valley and forget me nots) sit atop the charm's finely-speckled, hand-textured surface. Lily of the valley and forget me not have long been popular symbolic flowers, especially around holidays like Valentine's Day and Easter . . . they are also characters in an Edwardian era children's story about star-crossed lovers, one being of the springtime, and the other being of the summer. This antique charm has a serene visual quality. It is very pretty worn alone on a slender chain. We love these finely-made old charms, and like our favorite examples, this one has lots of symbolic potential.
