A 1970s jadeite and diamond ring, modeled in 14k yellow gold, whose textured, naturalistic setting features a languid, diamond-set clematis blossom. This setting was hand carved— an arrangement of ribbon-like leaves and petals make up the ring's shank and shoulders, coming together, fluidly, to form a bezel that cradles its jade cabochon. The single clematis blossom lays "atop" the jade on one side; its round, brilliant cut diamond (F/G, VS) is held in six prongs, at the flower's center. We love the asymmetry of this mount, its deep, linear, hand-engraved textures, and its beautiful flowing moment! This ring makes a big statement and it is very cozy in wear.
The luminosity/transparency of jade is difficult to capture in photos, while also accurately representing color. See in wear photo for best representation of this jade's luminous quality.
