Belle Époque Emerald & Diamond Halo Ring

A striking Belle Époque era ring, modeled in 14k rosy yellow gold and platinum, whose primary gem is a natural step-cut emerald, with an especially intense, deep green color! This emerald is faceted in the old style, with a small, low, eight-sided table, and stepped facets that extend from each of its sides. Surrounding the emerald, a petite halo of white, old mine cut diamonds rest in shared prongs and beads. The ring's broad, split shoulders are set with further old mine cut diamonds— they read like v-shaped epaulettes astride the ring head. The halo and shoulders, here, are topped with platinum, while the ring's gallery, undergallery, and shank are fashioned in gold. We love this unique, low-profile ring for the garland-like quality of its diamond halo, and the incredible color of its emerald— there is much wonderful contrast here, in both color and texture!  

We removed this emerald from the setting, and had its facets re-polished, preserving the original pattern. It had become very dull, over the course of its long life— now the ring is ready to go on for another 100+ years!
