This locket is engraved, on the reverse, with the monogram WCL, in ribboning calligraphic script. The original photo rings and covers are present. It hangs from a weighty jump ring. This locket is finished with a "bloom," a process that brings a layer of fine gold to the jewel's surface, giving it a rich, high gold color. These solid gold, turn-of-the-century, repoussé lockets are becoming quite rare. We love them as signature pieces— from a distance this reads like an elegant gold disc; it reveals its unusual subject only as the wearer is approached!
