Naturalistic Art Nouveau Crystal Opal Ring
with OMC Diamonds in 14k Gold
* * SOLD * *
A dazzling, Art Nouveau era ring, modeled in 14k yellow gold and set with a trio of large, dynamic, natural opal cabochons. These crystal opals—
a long oval and two bubbly, free-form triangles— are Australian, and their fiery, rainbow colors (blue, green, pink, purple, and yellow) display in a flag pattern. Between these magical gems, four, small, old mine cut diamonds
lay stationed. The organic quality of the bezels that hold these diamonds contributes to the ring's natural world aesthetic, as does the sculptural decor that adorns its shoulders and gallery, which are deeply carved with forms suggestive of lilies and their foliage. The prongs that hold the opals are integral to this botanical motif— they "grow out" of the decor. The ring's weighty half-round shank tapers toward the base.
