An elegant, Art Deco era, diamond cluster ring, modeled in platinum, with a softly-peaked, elongated, shield-like form. This airy, openwork shield features five, bezel set diamonds (arranged vertically) that float inside a series of hand-pierced, target-like fields. These five old European cut diamonds are flanked by arrays of diamond-set, pennant-shaped seats that come together to create a batwing or spiderweb effect, where they join the negative space around the primary diamonds. Fine, milgrain details finish the edges of those pennant-shaped seats. Open-work channels keep all of the elements of the design crisp and light. The ring's half-round shank is notched the shoulder; it tapers toward the base. This is very low profile— it would make a wonderful, unusual engagement or five-year anniversary ring!
