Art Deco 1.16ct OEC Diamond Engagement Ring

An exceptional Art Deco era engagement ring, modeled in platinum, whose primary gem is a 1.16 carat old European cut diamond (K/L, VS2). This lively, old, hand-cut diamond is set low in the ring face, where it is held in four tab-style prongs, and bordered by a shapely field of linear engraving. This field is defined by delicate, curving, hand-pierced lines, which create the impression of a festooned curtain, or panel of fabric. The ring's shoulder decor elaborates on these lines, adding magnificent, dimensional dragonflies to the story! The dragonflies' openwork wings align with the the curved lines of the ring face; their thoraxes are marked by bezel-set diamonds, and their tails are represented by a slender row of french-cut blue sapphires! Bead-set, old cut diamonds further embellish the wings of our dragonflies, and also the ring's ornate gallery. Floral and folate engravings enliven the ring shank, from the low shoulder to the base. This is a heart-stopping old beauty!
