Art Deco Colombian Emerald & Diamond Ring
in Platinum & 18k Gold
* * SOLD * *
An elegant Art Deco era engagement ring, modeled in platinum and 18k yellow gold, whose primary gem is an especially fine Colombian emerald (approx 1.9 carats). This square, step cut emerald has that most covetable, vivid, deep-bluish-green hue and remarkable transparency— it glows atop the ring's face, where it rests in a yellow gold basket. It is held in place by four pairs of claw-like, yellow gold prongs. A pair of wonderful, old, shield-shaped diamonds (G/H, VS) decorate the ring's cathedral shoulders, laying astride our lush emerald. The ring's platinum shank is knife-edged, and it tapers toward the base. This ring's clean, sophisticated lines make it timeless and especially endearing! This style is often imitated in contemporary jewelry, but is never quite equaled.
This emerald is original to the ring. It is accompanied by a GIA Gemological Report stating Colombian origin.
