A mid twentieth century cocktail ring, modeled in 14k white and yellow gold, whose primary gem is a large, natural, jadeite jade cabochon. This untreated, 'A jade' cabochon is held in a slim, yellow gold bezel, where it is surrounded by a bevy of sparkling, white, single cut diamonds. This petite diamond border has a charming, scalloped edge— each stone is mounted in a hand-cut seat, where it is held in place with tiny, bead-like prongs. This low-profile ring has a pillow-like, white gold, wirework undergallery, that allows the jade to be viewed from the back. The ring shank is yellow gold— it is "pinched" at the shoulder, and it widens toward the base. Natural, untreated jade is rare, and this example has outstanding color!
