1940s Church & Co Opal Ring
in 14k Gold
* * SOLD * *
A charming 1940's ring, modeled in 14k rosy yellow gold, whose smooth stepped bezel holds a large, oval, Australian opal cabochon. This opal's soft fire is displayed in the full spectrum of colors, from blue, green, yellow, and pink, to blue and purple. These pastel, rainbow-colored flashes have a linear quality, traveling across the face of the gemstone from north to south. This ring has a reeded, tapering, half-round shank, with a simple bound detail at the shoulders. It's undergallery is softly domed. We love this ring for its clean lines and classic form, and for the light, sweet quality of its ethereal opal.
The opal's body color is blue-white and it is semi-transparent.
