Edwardian Opal & OEC Diamond Three Stone Ring
in 14k Gold
* * SOLD * *
A beautiful, Edwardian era three stone ring, whose primary gem is a fiery, oval, Australian opal cabochon. This crystal opal is held aloft in a crown-like, six prong mount. It has a light blue body tone, and it displays a full spectrum of shimmering colors (shades of green, blue, red, and purple), in a pinfire pattern! Astride this opal cabochon, a pair of old European cut diamonds are held in six prong mounts. These charming old cut diamonds are white and eye clean, with small high tables, steep crown facets, and small, open culets. The ring's gallery highlights the scalloped, crownlike nature of its settings. The shank is split at the shoulder and it tapers toward the base. This ring is substantially made, and its proportions make it especially lovely, in wear. Marked 14k for purity.
