Poor Mouchette | Curated Antique Jewelry, Vintage Jewelry & Engagement Rings | Portland, Oregon | A newly hand-made engagement ring, whose gem in an antique, 1.25 carat Old European cut diamond (I/J, VS1). This brilliant old rainbow-maker is held in a smooth bezel, where (thanks to four small spacers) it appears to hover inside a second, larger bezel. Our target style ring face takes its inspiration from the delicate floating bezels of the Edwardian and Belle Epoque eras.

Our target style ring face takes its inspiration from the delicate floating bezels of the Edwardian and Belle Epoque eras. Here we exaggerate scale with a single large diamond, and opt for a very matte finish— both choices lend this old idea a forward-thinking, modernist quality! This ring features an openwork gallery, whose series of small, pierced circles echo the design of the ring face. The ring's half-round shank is slender and it tapers toward the base. This has a big, striking presence in wear, and is very low-profile.

This ring was designed by Poor Mouchette and handcrafted in Portland, OR, by collaborating, independent craftspeople— even the antique diamond was sourced locally.
