A Victorian-era heart-shaped locket, modeled in 14k rosy yellow gold, whose face is decorated with a beautiful, hand-graved, gem-set trefoil. This stemmed trefoil is inverted, so its central leaf points toward the point of the heart. It is bead-set with three, small old-cut gems— a diamond, a ruby, and a blue sapphire— to symbolize the French tricolour flag. This antique locket has a soft, buttery finish that was hard-won through years of thoughtful wear. It hangs from an oversized oval jump ring. The locket opens easily, and closes with a light snap. Its reverse is engraved EJ, in fancy period script.
The surface of this locket is smooth and bright, in hand; our macro photos exaggerate the fine scratches that give the locket its soft, buttery glow.
