Large 1960s Walnut Pendant
in 18k Gold
* * SOLD * *
A very cool mid-twentieth-century walnut pendant or large charm, modeled in 18k yellow gold. This walnut is realistically textured, with deep, carved-in grooves, and fine, stippled texturing. It hangs from an oversized oval bail. Walnuts have traditionally symbolized wisdom and discernment, partly because the fruit inside the shell resembles a human brain. Nuts in general stand for the idea that something of great value may be hidden within a hard shell. We would wear this glamorous nut (alone) on a long substantial chain. It also pairs well with other meaningful pieces, thanks to its all-gold-ness and its interesting texture. Marked 750 for purity, and with other marks we have not deciphered.
