Kurt Wayne 1970s Rope Knot Ring
in 18k Gold
* * SOLD * *
A wonderful vintage 1970s ring, modeled in 18k yellow gold, by the designer Kurt Wayne. This weighty, figural ring takes the form of a length of rope or heavy string, tied into a loose knot— on the hand it appears this rope has been tied around the wearer's finger. The form, here, is realistically communicated, with deep linear texture that varies where the knot is looser or tighter, and softly unraveling tails. Kurt Wayne was interested in everyday objects, and how they could be used in the world of art. We love this very wearable example of his work, and its playful concept! "Tie a string around your finger so you won't forget!" This ring is marked for Kurt Wayne; the badges read: ©KW 1970, and 14204
