A seriously cool, mid twentieth century modernist ring, fabricated in 14k yellow gold, whose gem is a high-dome malachite cabochon. This malachite gumdrop is seated in a smooth bezel, atop the ring's sculptural, cutaway shank. It is beautifully figured with vibrant, alternating, light-and-dark-green bands, and these bands tighten into a swirling knot on one side. We love the exaggerated height and scale here, along with the ring's unusual, clean, bold lines! The extra-wide base of the ring shank, and its slim, cutaway shoulders, make this true-fitting and very cozy in wear. Marked 14k for purity, and with an obscure maker's mark.
