Victorian Natural Gold Nugget Heart Pendant

An extra large, Victorian-era heart pendant, covered edge-to-edge in natural gold nuggets. These gold nuggets have a rich, high, gold color, and fascinating organic textures. A sanguine, heart-shaped, garnet doublet rests amid these nuggets, in six, claw-like prongs. The heart's backplate is pierced from 14k gold sheet, as are the the bail and the large jump ring. It is engraved with a curling script monogram that reads LCB. This big, weighty heart hangs at about 1 5/8"— it is bold and graphic, with clean lines and outstanding varied texture. It wears beautifully on a long chain, and pairs well with other symbolic pieces.

This was once a brooch— the brooch fitting has been carefully removed, and the bail added.
